1. Coast Fuel Card

Small businesses have a lot of options when they’re seeking out a fuel card. However, they may be limited when they are just starting out. No small business owner wants to sign a personal guarantee and undergo a personal credit check.

Thankfully, there are plenty of business gas cards EIN only to support your drivers without impacting your personal finances. One such card is the Coast Fuel Card.

The Coast Fuel Card is an affordable fuel card option if you’re looking for fleet cards. The only expenses with this card are the $4 monthly charge per card. This helps keep your spending low and your savings high.

Speaking of savings, businesses can expect a rebate of anywhere from 3 to 9 cents per gallon across a wide range of gas stations. Besides fuel rebate savings, you can also save on vehicle maintenance, fleet software, and other essential fleet expenses with your fuel card.

Coast even offers 1% cash back on all non-gas station purchases. You can set spending limits and enjoy other features designed around your fleet needs.

The Coast Fuel Card is stellar if you want to make sure the drivers of your fleet are getting discounts at gas stations, vehicle maintenance shops, and beyond.

2. AtoB Fuel Card

The AtoB Fuel Card is another great fuel card option for fleets. However, every fleet manager should know that there are two AtoB fuel cards. One is prepaid, and the other is a business credit card. You’ll want to opt for the latter as a business owner looking to build business credit.

There’s a lot to love about the AtoB Fuel Card. You can expect average discounts of 45 cents per gallon, with up to $2.00 off per gallon on truck diesel and 5 cents off per gallon on unleaded.

AtoB’s partner network is extensive. Whether you’re looking for broader benefits for fleets, discounts on fuel costs, or other savings, this is the right fuel card for your small business. This fuel card is powered by Mastercard. It offers spending limits, analytics, and so much more.

The AtoB Fuel Card program does come with more expenses than our first fleet fuel card. You will be required to pay a $35 account opening fee. This is a one-time payment, so this isn’t where you’ll be spending the most money.

After that, it’s $15/month for up to five fuel cards. If you want more, you’ll have to pay an additional $3/month per card.

You can also boost your savings by opting into a premium card membership for an additional $3 per month. Visiting their website is a great way to see the full breakdown of card features, benefits, and rewards at gas stations and partner locations.

3. Shell

The right fuel card is going to look different for various fleets and drivers. For example, some fleets and drivers may prefer the above. Others might prefer a fuel card focused on offering rewards for gas stations primarily in their area, like the Shell Fleet Card.

Shell has always offered several fuel card options. There are pros and cons to both.

The first fuel card option is the Shell Card Business. The Shell Card Business fuel card supports fleets by offering up to 6 cents per gallon in savings at Shell stations. Do you need maintenance support? They also offer 15% off maintenance services at participating Jiffy Lube locations.

With the Shell Card Business fuel card, it’s important to know it’s only accepted at Shell locations. This might seem like a given to businesses.

However, the second card is not limited to just Shell locations.

The Shell Card Business Flex offers savings of up to 5 cents per gallon. While it’s slightly lower, you benefit from 95% U.S. gas station coverage. Having greater coverage is a key advantage. This comes alongside 45,000+ service stations, which saves you 20%.

As a bonus, both cards allow you to choose your payment terms. You can pay in full or carry a balance over time. There are no annual fees with these cards. Shell is considered a business credit card EIN only. However, you’re subject to stringent eligibility requirements.

4. Chevron and Texaco

Continuing with the current theme, you may be surrounded by Chevron and Texaco gas stations. In this case, you may prefer the Chevron and Texaco Business Card.

As with Shell, you actually have several options. The fuel card you choose determines the risks and rewards you encounter. Here’s a quick breakdown of their offerings:

  • The Business Card: The Business Card is a charge card with no setup or annual fees. It doesn’t offer the same volume-based rebates to lower fuel expenses as the others. It’s accepted at over 8,000 Chevron and Texaco locations.
  • The Business Access Card: The Business Access Card is a charge card that also has no setup or annual fees. You get volume-based rebates of up to 6 cents per gallon at Chevron and Texaco stations. You can also use your card at 95% of U.S. gas stations.
  • The Business Access Flex Card: The Business Access Flex Card is a credit card. You can pay in full or carry a balance. You receive the same rebates and benefits (all without fees as well).

There are two important notes.

The Business Access Card features a $2.00 per fuel transaction fee when fueling up outside of the network. This isn’t present with the Business Access Flex Card.

The Business Access Flex Card does charge interest if you carry a balance. According to the website, this involves “a variable APR of the Prime Rate plus a margin of 15.99%.”

5. Phillips 66

Do you have Phillips 66, Conoco, or 76 gas stations near you? If so, consider the Phillips 66 Conoco 76 Fleet Fuel Cards.

Phillips 66 offers two business fleet cards. These fuel card options include:

  • The Business Fleet Card: This fuel card is great if you only plan on spending at Phillips 66, Conoco, or 76 gas stations. You get savings of up to 7 cents per gallon at over 7,500 participating locations.
  • The Business Universal Card: The Business Universal Card offers the same savings potential. However, this card is more flexible. You can use it at 95% of U.S. gas stations to manage fuel expenses.

Much like the other fuel cards on this list, there are ample spending limit controls, fraud prevention, and other features that will be essential for those managing fleets and drivers.

6. ExxonMobil

ExxonMobile offers two fleet cards that could be perfect for your fleet.

The Fleet Pro Card is designed around mixed and diesel-driven fleets. It’s accepted at over 12,000 participating locations (Exxon and Mobil). This is in addition to over 800 commercial fueling stations. It’s backed by the purchasing power of Mastercard.

The BusinessPro Card can help you earn up to 6 cents per gallon at Exxon and Mobil gas stations. It’s also accepted at 95% of U.S. gas stations.
