Our research found that, over the course of just a few months, retail businesses (consisting of industries such as miscellaneous retail, apparel and accessory, general merchandise, and furniture and home furnishings) spent $3.3 million.
Breaking this spending down by category, retail business owners are spending money as follows:
Looking at available category-spend cards, the best case isn’t going to earn you as much as the best flat-rate cards.
For example, the Amex Gold business credit card will earn you the most out of the top category-spend rewards cards: 1.52% cash back. Nearly all the other category-spend cards will earn you less than 1.5%.
Meanwhile, flat-rate cards with an effective rate of 2% are going to earn you the most over time.
While there are exceptions to the rule, flat-rate cards are the best for eCommerce business owners, since category-spend cards won’t earn you the same rewards across all spending categories.

The Wells Fargo Signify Business Cash business credit card is the best business credit card for eCommerce business owners who want rewards.
Why? As explained above, flat-rate cards tend to be the best option across the board. The Wells Fargo Signify Business Cash card offers unlimited 2% cash rewards. There are no caps or category limits that will prevent you from earning with each swipe.
There are other things to love about this flat-rate business credit card too, including:
It’s a great business card overall for those who don’t have any of the specific restrictions or circumstances in their eCommerce listed below.

If you’re an eCommerce business owner with a bad personal credit score, you might believe that you don’t qualify for any cards. One card designed for business owners with poor credit is the FairFigure Lift Card.
The FairFigure Lift Card is an EIN only business credit card alternative that extends funding based on revenue. This means no personal credit check and no personal guarantee. There’s also no paperwork and no security deposit needed to get started.
With the FairFigure Lift Card, you will be able to get:
Unlike some other business credit cards with no personal credit check, FairFigure Lift Card doesn’t have an annual fee or interest rates.
If you do opt for FairFigure Premium for $35/month, you can get an additional tradeline. It reports to all of the above, except for D&B.

Many eCommerce business owners source inventory or supplies through Amazon Business. If you’re one of them, then the top business credit card for you might actually be the Amazon Business Prime Card.
The Amazon Business Prime Card comes with a host of benefits. Speaking to its cash-back structure, you receive:
This makes it a top choice for Amazon Business users. However, the rewards aren’t the only benefits. The Amazon Business Prime Card also comes with:
As the name suggests, you will need a Prime membership for this specific business credit card. The card issuer for this is now U.S. Bank (no longer Amex).
Prime membership costs will vary depending on the plan you choose. A small business with only five users is looking at $179/year. Meanwhile, a medium-sized business can spend around $1,299/year.
You can see Amazon Business Prime information here.
There is a 17.99% to 29.99% variable APR with this card.

The Capital One Spark 2% Cash Card is a stellar choice if you’re constantly sourcing inventory from overseas.
The problem with some flat-rate cards, such as the Wells Fargo Signify Card, is that they have foreign transaction fees that eat into your rewards. You might get unlimited 2% cash back, but there’s a 3% foreign transaction fee that results in a loss.
The best credit card for you is one with no foreign transaction fee.
The Capital One Spark 2% Cash Card offers the same unlimited cash back without the foreign transaction fees.
It also offers:
The only drawback is that there is no 0% APR introductory period for this business credit card. Interest can be a bit higher than some other cards, especially considering that this one requires you to have excellent credit. This business card comes with a 24.49% variable APR.
If you’re looking for an alternative for your small business, it’s worth looking into the Capital One Spark Cash Select Card. This business card offers 1.5% instead.

If you’re an eCommerce business owner already in the Amex ecosystem looking for a card, one of the top two options is the American Express Blue Business Cash business credit card.
The Amex Blue Business Cash card offers 2% cash back on eligible purchases. The reason why it’s not higher on this list, however, is that it does come with a limit. You only get 2% cash back up to $50,000 per calendar year.
After that, you only get 1% cash back on each business expense until next year.
That being said, there are other perks to this business credit card. Namely:
The rewards are a bit less flexible with this Amex card. You’ll see your cash back rewards as a statement credit issued monthly.

If you want an Amex card that’s much more flexible, especially if you like to travel, you’re going to want the American Express Blue Business Plus card.
The American Express Blue Business Plus card has a similar rewards structure to our previous Amex business credit card.
You get 2x points on the first $50,000 in a calendar year. Then, you get 1x points thereafter.
They do, however, allow you to get 2x points on eligible purchases on AmexTravel.com, which don’t count toward your $50,000 annual limit.
How can you spend them? You can exchange points for:
With this business credit card, you also get:
It’s a solid business credit card overall, especially if you’re focused on making sure you have more control over your rewards points.

The U.S. Bank Triple Cash card is a strong cash back option for eCommerce businesses that frequently find themselves spending on fuel, office supplies, and more.
Here’s the full cash-back rundown for their 3% cash back program:
If your business expenses fall into one of these categories, you’re still earning unlimited 1% cash back on all other purchases.
Other features of this business credit card include:

The Bank of America Unlimited Cash Rewards Credit Card offers solid cash back for all of your business expenses.
This Bank of America business credit card comes with unlimited 1.5% cash back. There are no category restrictions, and your points don’t expire so long as your account remains open.
You can get a $250 cash rewards bonus if you spend at least $1,000 within the first 90 days after account opening.
If you want to maximize your rewards, you can sign up for banking with BofA and then apply for the BofA Rewards program. This can get you:
There are limits to the first two rewards. You get cash back for both combined up to $2,500 each quarter. Then, 1% cash back afterward until the next quarter rolls around.
There’s a $0 annual fee and 0% APR for the first 15 billing cycles. After that, it’s 17.49% to 27.49% variable APR.
The one notable downside to this business credit card is the balance transfer fee. It’s 3% for the first 60 days after account opening. Then, it jumps up to 5% after the intro promotion.

Some cards are good for specific scenarios and eCommerce business owners. For example, if you’re a seller with heavy shipping and ad spend who likes to be able to rack up rewards points for travel, you might find that the Chase Ink Preferred card is your card.
Here’s an overview of everything this business credit card has to offer:
There is an annual fee for this business credit card, which is $95. Additionally, you will be paying a variable APR of 17.74% to 26.74% with the Chase Ink Business Preferred right away.
We determined the 9 best business credit cards for eCommerce using our study of 5,769 customers across 75 industries spanning 506,801 transactions from May 30, 2026, through August 25, 2026.
