Many sole proprietor business credit card recommendations may be based on card features or affiliate commissions rather than data-driven analysis.
In contrast, we have conducted the most in-depth study on the best business credit cards for sole proprietors in 2026 using internal data.
Our research looked at 5,769 small businesses, 506,801 transactions across 75 industries, representing $79.9 million in net spend.
Then, we measured that against the top 26 name-brand business credit cards in the industry.
Here are the top optionsfor a sole proprietorship based on our research.
| Card | Perks | Fees/Interest | Best For… |

For specific business types, we recommend cards based on spend and how that spend aligns with various rewards cards that are currently on the market.
Because sole proprietors encompass every industry, it’s a bit more challenging to make sole proprietorship recommendations solely on spend.
The major consideration when selecting a business credit card for a sole proprietor is your credit and approval profile. That being said, based on the data, here’s what we do know:
At the end of the day, a flat-rate card with an effective rate of 2% is going to offer more rewards for a sole proprietor than a category-spend card. This brings us to our first business credit card recommendation for a sole proprietorship.

The Wells Fargo Signify Business Cash is the best for rewards for sole proprietors for one simple reason: this card gives you unlimited 2% cash back with no caps or spending category limits.
Even if you’re spending as little as $4,000 a month on business expenses, you’re making around $1,000 in cash back annually. This is a nice chunk of savings that you can claim as a statement credit.
If you want to get more rewards from this business credit card, you can take advantage of its bonus cash back promotion. If you spend at least $5,000 within the first three months of card membership, you’ll get an extra $500.
This card doesn’t have an annual fee, which is important for rewards cards. There’s also 0% APR for the first 12 months after account opening. After that, you’ll get 16.99% to 24.99% variable APR, depending on your personal credit score and credit history.
You can get free employee cards with built-in spend features to keep tabs on all business expenses. There are also a few travel rewards that you can take advantage of on this business credit card.

It can seem impossible to get a business credit card when you have bad personal credit. If that’s the main thing holding you back, you should apply for the FairFigure Lift Card.
The FairFigure Lift Card is not an EIN only business credit card. Rather, it’s a business card that extends funding based on your revenue. This makes it better than other business credit cards with no personal credit check, such as secured business credit cards.
Here’s an overview of what you’re getting with the FairFigure Lift Card:
Not all startup business credit cards with no credit EIN only help you build credit. This business card will help you tap into better funding opportunities over time.

The American Express Blue Business Plus is the best choice if you’re looking for a business credit card for travel rewards.
The Amex Blue Business Plus Card offers 2x rewards points up to $50,000 per calendar year. After that, you’ll get 1x rewards points on every other business expense.
There’s no annual fee and 0% APR for the first 12 months. After that, you can expect a variable APR of 16.99% to 28.74%.
Points for this card are transferable to top airlines, including Delta, British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Singapore Airlines, and more. You can also use your points for hotel loyalty programs.
If you’re looking to switch things up, points can be applied to statement credits, gift cards, and participating business partners (Amazon, Best Buy, GrubHub).
